So, the world didn’t end last Saturday. There was this prediction by a guy who thought he knew stuff about the end. He was wrong of course. In fact, he made a fatal blunder. He failed to read the whole story.
In fact, Jesus said he didn’t even know when it would happen. He said that the end would come like a thief in the night. He said that only the Father knew for sure.
Sadly, many people believed what this guy said. They quit their jobs, they sold their stuff, and they waited for the end to come. But, now that it didn’t come, what do they do?
Jesus made it clear that tough things are going to happen in this world. There will be floods and wars and people we care about will die. Life is hard!
But life is also good. It is full of times to enjoy the people around us and times to embrace the beauty of the world. There are many good things waiting for us and we are made to live life to its fullest!
Here’s the point. We need to simply do that: live! We don’t know if we have a long time or a short time on this planet. But, we weren’t made to worry about when it will all come crashing to a halt. We were made to experience each and every moment, the good and the bad.
Don’t forget the most important thing Jesus reminded us about. It was His parting words to his disciples, which includes those of us who follow Him. “And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
We are not alone! He will be with us right up to our last breath, if we let Him. No matter when and no matter how, He will walk with us through it all. That is not a mere prediction. That is a fact!
